Cupping has gained a lot of publicity after the Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, and numerous other athletes, were seen sporting the infamous circle bruise left by cupping. Cupping is used by many other cultures and has fantastic therapeutic benefits. Most often it is applied as a treatment for tension in the muscles or to release fascia. It can be used almost anywhere on the body. Cupping is fantastic to help improve breathing in individuals suffering from asthma or an acute cold, or even on the face to brighten the complexion. Medicine Rock offers cupping only appointments. These appointments are 30 to 40 minutes long and $60. A shortened version of cupping may be included in your regular acupuncture appointment, or you may book a 90 minute appointment for cupping and acupuncture.

Cupping is not for everyone, if you have a skin condition, bleeding disorder, are taking blood thinners or have extremely sensitive skin cupping may be contraindicated. If you are not sure cupping is for you feel free to reach out!
